Police have released a photo of a suspect wanted in connection with the alleged shooting of a West Rand cop last week.

Constable Sindisiwe Matshaya, a 36-year-old female officer stationed at the Wedela Police Station in the West Rand District sustained a serious gunshot wound while attending to a case on Wednesday, 30 October.

According to Constable Rebecca Phithi, the acting West Rand District Police spokesperson, Constable Matshaya was shot in the neck while investigating a business robbery scene in Extension 2 at about 4.20pm that day.
