Another shot at matric!

New centre in Kocksoord to give unsuccessful matrics a second chance.

The Kocksoord Community Learning Centre (CLC) was officially opened at the Kocksoord Library on Thursday, 20 February.

According to Xolani Mrwetyane, a teacher by profession who initiated the centre, 40 students have already registered so that they could re-write Grade 12.

“In order to register to write the Grade 12 final examinations, applicants should be 21 years old and provide evidence that they have passed Grade 10,” Xolani said.

He added that the centre would give adults who have no matric a second chance in life. He said it would also be a golden opportunity for them to pursue higher education.

“We are glad to announce that a piece of land has been donated to us where we will put the containers and get on with the programme.

The CLC will cater for students from various areas such as Finsbury, Kocksoord, Mohlakeng and Toekomsrus. It will be open between 3pm and 5pm.
