Brace yourselves for planned power outage in parts of town until 14:00

Several areas in Rand West City will be affected by a planned power supply interruption scheduled for Friday February 11.

The Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) has confirmed a planned electricity interruption from 08:00 until 14:00 on Friday February 11.

According to an official notice issued by Bongani Nkambule, Executive Manager of the Department of Infrastructure at the RWCLM, “Eskom had notified the municipality that there will be a shutdown of Industries substation for critical maintenance to get underway.

“Notice is hereby given that the electricity supply to your premises will be disconnected,” Nambule said.

The areas that will be affected are as follows: Robinson Hospital, Lenmed Hospital, Uncle Harry’s up to 6th Street, Friendship Haven, Randfontein Police, parts of Homelake, Azaadville, Robinpark, Bongweni, West Porges, parts of Greenhills, Mogale Junction, HoĆ«rskool Jan Viljoen, Tiger Mills, Albany factory and Continental.

All electrical installations and apparatus must be treated as being live at all times. We apologise for the inconvenience,” Nkambule added.
