Time confirmed for MEC Lesufi’s visit to Hoërskool Jan VIljoen on Thursday

As expected, Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi will meet with parents of Hoërskool Jan Viljoen on Thursday evening February 17.

As expected, Gauteng MEC for Education, Panyaza Lesufi will meet with parents of Hoërskool Jan Viljoen on Thursday evening February 17.

According to a statement issued by acting Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson Oupa Bodibe, the meeting will start at 17:30.

“The purpose of the meeting is for the MEC to report back and listen to the parents’ concerns,” Bodibe said.

This will be the MEC’s second visit to the school this week after chaos erupted at the school on Monday February 14.

Besides investigating racism claims, a staff member – employed by the SGB – who was accused of sexual harassment will be placed on precautionary suspension.
