Twelve sustain injuries when taxi rolls

Twelve people sustained minor to moderate injuries when the taxi they were travelling in rolled on the R500 between Fochville and Carletonville on Wednesday afternoon May 4.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, medics and Gauteng Provincial EMS arrived at the scene of the accident at 16:55 to find the taxi resting on its side on the side of the road.

“Twelve adults were found sitting next to the road. Medics assessed them and found that all 12 had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were found,” Meiring said.

The patients were treated and later transported to Carletonville Provincial Hospital for further care. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
