Kilburn INGCO store upgraded

The INGCO concept store in Kilburn Shopping Centre is expanding and celebrating with a huge relaunch.

The Kilburn Hardware INGCO concept store has made remarkable progress since it first opened its doors in September and is now readying for the next phase: Expansion.

A sister company to the long-established Kilburn Hardware Store, the INGCO concept store has grown fast, becoming a favoured ‘toy shop for men’ in just eight short months.

According to owner Pieter van Hoogdalem, INGCO as a brand has more than proven itself both for the local DIY community and in professional contracting circles.

“We’ve had nothing but praise from our customers,” says Van Hoogdalem.

“At its heart, it is, like Kilburn Hardware, a service-oriented family business,” he maintains.

“It is one of the things that attracted us to the INGCO brand in the first place.

“When you have a product that has proven itself against competitors in terms of quality and range, at a price that can rival any other, the differentiating factor will always be the level of service you offer to your customers.

“For nearly 40 years, we have been at our core, a customer and service-centric company.

“This is a priority that is shared between ourselves and the INGCO South Africa team, and I think it is one of the main reasons that we have been so successful in this sector.”

Expansion

The success of the Kilburn INGCO Concept Store has been such that it has quickly outgrown the 90m² shop next door to Kilburn Hardware.

“The variety of products on offer and the number of customers that visit our store meant that the shop quickly became too cramped.

“Thus, we decided to move four doors down, to a shop more than double in size, where we can more effectively display our products and more comfortably service our clients,” says Van Hoogdalem.

“The new shop boasts 220m² of floor space, and we have recently introduced a new product range, WADFOW, a range of cordless machines and tools aimed more at the DIY market.

“WADFOW is a sister company to INGCO, offering the same excellent quality and an extensive range of products, at DIY prices,” he says, adding that they currently carry about 40% of WADFOW’s range, with plans in place to expand this segment.

Launch

As was the case with the original Kilburn INGCO concept store, the Van Hoogdalems held a ‘soft opening’ about a month ahead of the official opening to make sure all systems were in place and working.

The official launch is set to take place on May 23 at 08:00 at the Kilburn Shopping Centre.

“The entire INGCO team will be available, doing demonstrations of the products, and there will be loads of specials and competitions on the day, including a few raffles and a buy one, get one free special on selected products.

“We invite all our customers to come and enjoy the day with us.”
