Two stolen vehicles recovered on West Rand

Police on the West Rand recovered two stolen vehicles – one in Kagiso and another near Swaneville.

While patrolling around the West Rand District, members of the Gauteng Traffic Police and Gauteng Traffic Wardens’ western corridor acted on information received from Car Tracker regarding an Isuzu bakkie, which had been hijacked in Leondale on the East Rand.

According to the Gauteng police’s provincial spokesperson, Dimakatso Sello, officers recovered the bakkie in Kagiso.

The vehicle was found with minor signs of stripping, and further investigations are underway,” Sello said.

In a separate operation, officers received information about another stolen vehicle, which was found abandoned in an open veld between Swaneville and Slovoville.

“No information has been confirmed as to where the car was stolen from, however, it will also be investigated,” Sello said.
