Cable thieves caught in Randgate
Two thieves were arrested after allegedly stealing copper cables from the roof of a private home in Randgate, following a swift response by private security and police.
On Wednesday morning, January 7, members of the Sub Rosa Reaction Unit apprehended two men found in possession of electrical cables and handed them over to the police.
According to Sub Rosa Security managing director Jaques Kleynhans, a panic alert from Sauer Street in Randgate prompted their officers to respond, where they discovered two men inside a white vehicle with electrical cables in their possession.

He added that police arrested the men and that the recovered cables were handed over as evidence.
Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo also confirmed the incident, stating that the men allegedly cut copper cables from the roof of a private residence and loaded them into the vehicle.
“Police and private security officers responded to the complaint and found the thieves still in the area,” Masondo said.
