Water restrictions continue and reservoir levels remain low

Residents of Rand West City will have to hang in there a little longer as far as water supply is concerned.

Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) says water levels in various reservoirs remain low despite the heavy rainfall recently.

According to municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa, the Westonaria, Westergloor, Greenhills and Hillshaven reservoirs are mostly affected which means residents in Venterspos, Borwa, Simunye, and Bekkersdal will experience low water pressure or a water outage.

Montshiwa said that they will continue to deploy water tankers to affected residents.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that this may have caused,” Monthsiwa said.

Meanwhile, the municipality has implemented a Revenue Billing Outreach Programme to assist residents with any municipal account problem. This will be taking place until May 6 and residents are urged to have on hand their account details as well as prepaid water and electricity details as well.
