Level 2 water restrictions implemented in Rand West City
Residents may not water their gardens among other limits due to level two water restrictions.
Rand West City Local Municipality has implemented level two water restrictions with immediate effect.
According to municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa, this is due to a power failure at the Rand Water Pumping Station leading to a drop in reservoir levels.
The restrictions include no watering of gardens, no filling of swimming pools and no washing of vehicles using a hosepipe.
The affected areas are Greenhills, Robinpark, Helikonpark, Finsbury, Mohlakeng, Dan Tloome and Toekomsrus.
“We understand the inconvenience but these measures are important to preserve water supply and ensure all residents have access to water. We urge residents to use water sparingly and to comply with the restrictions. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops,” Montshiwa said.
