On April 22, an intergovernmental meeting took place where Matsheke, McKenzie, and Deputy Mayor Nontombi Molatlhegi visited various sports grounds to focus on revitalising the infrastructure.

The visit showcased the government’s commitment to develop the community through the investment in sports facilities,” said municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa.
Some of the projects discussed include the upgrading of the Ace Ntsoelengoe Stadium in Mohlakeng, the Randfontein Golf Club, the Toekomsrus Swimming Pool and the Toekomsrus Stadium.
“These facilities are seen as crucial for promoting active lifestyles, nurturing local talent and providing safe spaces, especially for the youth, to drive the sports economy,” Montshiwa confirmed.
