Taxi overturns, leaving at least 15 injured

Emergency services arrived on the scene just after 13:00 to find at least 15 injured people, among them a child.

At least 15 people were injured when the taxi they travelled in overturned on Bank Road in Carletonville last Friday afternoon, September 23.

ER24 and other services arrived on the scene just after 13:00 to find a taxi lying on its side on the side of the road.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, the passengers had already climbed out of the vehicle and were sitting along the roadside.

Medics assessed the patients and found that at least 15 people, including a child, had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found. The patients were treated and later transported to nearby hospitals for further care.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
