The horror! Carcass found dumped in Greenhills

A carcass was dumped on a piece of land believed to be private property on the corner of Union Street and Willem Road in Greenhills.

Illegal dumping is seemingly getting out of hand in different parts of Rand West City with the latest incident being a carcass that was dumped on a piece of land believed to be private property.

This is on the corner of Union Street and Willem Road, Greenhills which is turning out to be a sore sight for residents.

Local resident Emsie Nicholson reached out to the Herald on October 31 regarding the carcass which are causing what she calls a stinking mess.

“I discovered this mess in the morning while I was driving my son to school. The place just smelled so horrible and when I stopped to look, that’s when I saw the carcass. It is disgusting to say the least and this is totally unacceptable. The owner of this piece of land or the municipality must do something about it,” said Nicholson.

Meanwhile, the Herald spoke to Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa who said illegal dumping will not be tolerated.

“The municipality does not tolerate illegal dumping and anyone who is found to be taking part in this will be fined,” Montshiwa said.
