Five injured in taxi-vehicle crash

A taxi and light motor vehicle collision in neighbouring Carletonville leave five people injured.

Five people were injured after a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided at the Dolomite and Onyx Road intersection in neighbouring Carletonville on Saturday evening, March 4.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics as well as another emergency service arrived on the scene at approximately 18:48 to find a light motor vehicle parked on the side of the road while the taxi had come to a stop in the road.

The taxi driver was found seated in his vehicle while four other patients were walking around. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that two were in a serious condition while three others had sustained moderate injuries.”

He added that the patients were treated for their injuries and later transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
