Daycare kids dress up in traditional outfits for Heritage Day
The kids at the daycare looked colourful in their traditional clothes and were also carrying a flag of the country.

The Bob and Wendy Preschool celebrated Heritage Day a little earlier in style and had their little ones dressed up in their different traditional outfits.
The principal at the preschool, Yolande Jansen van Vuuren said the children were happy to be in their traditional clothes on September 22 at the school’s premises.

“Heritage Day is a special day to remember and honour our past. It’s a day to think about who we were, who we are now, and who we want to be in the future. We do this by reminding ourselves of our ancestors, their lives, their struggles, and their victories.

“It’s not just about history. It’s also about our own unique culture. We have different food, music, dance, and art that tell a story about us. On this day, we share these stories and learn from each other,” said Jansen van Vuuren who added that Heritage Day shapes the different societies people live in.
