Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser held in Pelzvale
A fundraising event hosted by various stakeholders highlighted the importance of breast cancer awareness.
The Tsoga Mosadi Organisation and the Mphe Seriti Orphanage Centre recently took hands with the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation to raise awareness about breast cancer.
According to Tebogo Mashilane, one of the organisers, along with residents Koketso Mashilane and Dimpho Makokoe, the event saw about 100 people in attendance and included various activities such as dancing, poetry and indigenous games.

“Those who attended donated sanitary towels, school stationery and clothes to the less fortunate. They were also educated about early detection, and treatment and hope to help spread cancer awareness.
“The goal of the event was to teach people to change their mindset about chronic diseases and to educate them with the facts. People should do regular check-ups since breast cancer can seem harmless in its early stages,” expressed Tebogo.
She further urged women to do regular check-ups.
