Five family members killed, including three children, in R559 crash
Heartbreak on the R559 as five family members, including children, lost their lives in a horror crash. The eldest son is the sole survivor.
A family of five was killed in a horrific collision between their car and a bakkie on the R559 near Vleikop on the morning of November 12.
According to eyewitness Carl Scholtz, there were six people in the car: The father, mother, and their four children, with the father behind the wheel. The mother was found conscious after the crash but later succumbed to her injuries in the ambulance. The eldest son survived the impact but sustained a head injury and was transported to the hospital.
Police at the scene confirmed that the driver of the bakkie was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

A relative of the deceased, Hendrina Greyling, mentioned that the family was on their way to drop the children off at school when the tragedy occurred.
Emergency services were approached for comments at the scene, but did not provide an immediate response. Their feedback will be published once received.

Greyling stated that the family is now seeking financial assistance for funeral costs.
