From pageants to giving back: Zuney (9) makes a difference

Help make a difference in the lives of those in need by supporting a local pageant girl’s fundraiser.

*Zuney Bietjie is hosting a Valentine’s Day Pageant in support of No More Tears Animal Rescue and Baby G Safe Haven.

Zuney’s mother, Claudell Maree, says the pageant is divided into different age categories to include everyone. Winners will be selected for best dressed and personality as well. The pageant will take place on February 14 in Sterkfontein.

All proceeds from the pageant will go towards No More Tears Animal Rescue and Baby G Safe Haven. Zuney is also collecting blankets and toys for the animals in No More Tears’ care.

On December 13, Zuney held a Christmas party for the children at Baby G, handing out gifts and sweet packets. Along with a *fellow Miss Pre-Teen Randfontein finalist, she also spread festive cheer by delivering food, sponsored by Spar Greenhills, to car guards at a local shopping centre.

Anyone wishing to support or get in touch with Claudell on 074 689 2924.

*This article was amended after publication. It previously stated that Zuney, together with a fellow Miss Petite Randfontein finalist, would be hosting the Valentine’s Day Pageant in support of No More Tears Animal Rescue and Baby G Safe Haven. This was incorrect. Zuney’s friend is a Miss Pre-Teen Randfontein finalist and is not hosting the pageant. Zuney alone is hosting the event. Zuney’s friend was involved only in the distribution of food to car guards. The Herald apologises for any confusion caused. — Ed.
