Alyssa (13) is Venterspos’ water hero
At just 13, Alyssa Janse van Rensburg is helping Venterspos families during a water crisis and inspiring her community.
Alyssa Janse van Rensburg (13), Miss Pre-Teen Randfontein Finalist 2025/ 26, has been making a meaningful impact in Venterspos by helping to relieve the local water crisis.
A learner at Hoërskool Monument, Alyssa, collaborated with Becon Watertech and Interactive BCE during December to provide water to families through several water drives she organised and assisted in.
With the support of her parents, Alyssa participated in four water drives. Despite challenging conditions such as rain and late nights, her determination to help those in need kept her going.
Becon Watertech supported the first drive by providing transport to deliver the water, while Interactive BCE assisted one of the subsequent drives by supplying transport and water tanks.
“I was motivated by compassion and a strong sense of responsibility to remain committed throughout December, ensuring that residents had access to water during an extremely difficult time,” Alyssa said.
She mentioned that the Venterspos community expressed sincere gratitude for the support and dedication shown during the water shortage.
“I hope my efforts will inspire others to get involved in community upliftment initiatives, reminding everyone that even in challenging times, meaningful change begins with action,” she concluded.
