Planned power outage to affect parts of Rand West City

Rand West City residents are urged to prepare for a planned power outage affecting several areas on March 17.

Residents in several parts of Rand West City can expect a planned power outage on March 17 while the municipality carries out electrical line connection work.

The interruption is scheduled from 08:00 to 18:00.

Areas expected to be affected include Wheatlands, Oosterplots, Botha Plots, Elandsvlei, Loumarina, Connie Mulder, Wheatlands Primary School and part of Wilbotsdal.

The Rand West City Local Municipality said residents and businesses in these areas will experience a full power outage while the work is being carried out.

People who rely on electricity for essential needs, such as medical equipment, are advised to make alternative arrangements in advance.

Residents are also reminded to treat all electrical points as live during the outage.

Any changes to the schedule due to weather conditions or technical issues will be communicated through the municipality’s official channels.
