Local Hip Hop Academy dancers reach finals in Germany

Blueprint Hip Hop Dance Academy reached the final at the IDO Hip Hop World Championships in Germany.

Sixteen dancers of the Blueprint Hip Hop Dance Academy recently represented South Africa at the IDO Hip Hop World Championships in Germany.

The dance competition was held in Bremerhaven between 15 and 20 October.

According to Kayehlile Dhladhla, founder of the Academy, their dancers competed against more than 3 000 other dancers from 30 different countries.

Our results were amazing,” she said.

“The standard of dancing is very high overseas, so for us to make the finals with our crews is a very big achievement. We are happy that we could fly the SA flag high! We took an adult team to Germany, but next year we want to take a junior team. We encourage dancers to come for auditions in order to join the Academy,” Kayehlile said.
