Local boxers up for the challenge this December
Three local boxers will be in action this December across the country, one of them a woman.
Many local boxers from African Child Events and Promotions will be in action in the ring this December.
Nosiacwase Dube, the only woman, as well as Sphelele Myeza and Reggie Paderes, who use the Ramosa Hall in Mohlakeng to train and spar, are the ones ready to rumble.
Nosiacwase will be in action in Kroonstad against Lufuno Mushayi in a Bantamweight fight over four rounds, while Sphelele is expected to shine on home soil in Mohlakeng on 13 December in a Strawweight (Mini flyweight) fight, also over four rounds. Reggie will go head to head with Moruti Mthalane in Durban.
Nosiacwase boasts a record of two fights (one win, one draw and zero losses) thus far, while Sphelele has a record of six fights (all wins) and Reggie three fights (one win, one draw and one loss).
Michael Sediane, a former boxer under the guidance of Toekomsrus-based veteran coach Joe Bowker, praised the youngsters.
“Despite Covid-19 and logistic issues here in town such as no electricity at the facility, they are going places. I have taken this matter up with the municipality, to no avail. We are, however, proud of them despite the challenges they face.”
