Massive pothole causes accident
The bus driver tried to avoid driving into the pothole and subsequently smashed into an ambulance.
A bus has smashed into the side of an ambulance while trying to avoid driving into potholein Selope-Thema Street, Mohlakeng on 9 February.
The accident occurred at approximately 4.45pm.
According to an eyewitness at the scene the bus was travelling towards Mohlakeng Extention 8 when the incident occured.
The ambulance was underway to Leratong Hospital with a patient.
“The bus driver tried to avoid hitting the pothole and subsequently tried swerving to the side.
“Unfortunately the pothole very large and the driver ended up hitting both the pothole and the ambulance.”
Luckily no-one was injured in the accident and another ambulance was dispatched to ferry the patient to hospital.
