There are many people out there who want to have Pit bulls for all the wrong reasons, such as, they want them for Pit bull fighting, which is against the law.
The Soldiers against Dogfighting (Sad) and Gauteng Pit bulls’ awareness walk have come together yet again to bring awareness to one of the most misunderstood breeds in the world.
Speaking to Savanna Costa of SAD, she said they also have some of the rescued dogs present at the walk for those who would like to give them love and affection.

This walk is the biggest one we have planned as we wanted to make it one to remember and more than 200 people and their dogs attended the event.
The event was held at Laerskool Saamspan’s sports grounds and the event was attended by Gauteng animal lovers from all over Gauteng and as far as Durban.
“All breeds were welcome and the event started with the confirmation of dogs and how owners handle their dogs. The event ended with winners going home with loads of prizes.
The event also had a live performance by local artists.
