Aerial surveillance footage emerged after a pedestrian bridge collapsed onto the N3 highway on Wednesday.

A female passenger survived after being trapped inside the cab of a truck for about two hours while rescue teams battled to extricate her out of the wreckage. A truck crashed into the collapsed pedestrian bridge, the The Citizen reported.
The Citizen reported that emergency services said they received the call at 01:23 and both Bedfordview and Germiston Central fire station rescue teams swiftly responded for intervention.
