SANBS holds annual donor award ceremony

SANBS blood donators were thanked at an award ceremony at the Pretoria Golf Club for their donations over the past years.

The South African National Blood Services held its annual donor award ceremony in recognition of members of the public who donated blood to them regularly at the Pretoria Golf Club on Saturday.

This was the SANBS’s way of thanking donors for their blood contributions because without them the SANBS would not exist.

Members were given a presentation on blood donations and its procedures.

Since the SANBS had experienced a shortage of blood the organisation was calling on old donors and new donors to come and donate blood to those who need it.

Over 100 donators received awards for their blood donations. Alida van Binnedijk was almost the first female to donate blood. On Saterday she reached her 325 milestone.
