A 33-year-old man was found dead at a resort in Kameeldrift after he disappeared on Friday night, police spokesperson Captain Jan Sepato said.
The Soweto man was last seen on Friday night by his girlfriend during a couples retreat at the resort.
“At around 23:00, his girlfriend went to bed and the deceased said he’ll join her later. However, his girlfriend woke up to find him missing,” he said.
Upon calling the police, Sepato said the man was found dead near a river after a search was launched.
“It is suspected that he fell into the river but we have opened an inquest.”
