Man arrested for 8-year-old girl rape

A 25-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly raped an 8-year-old girl at his shack in Saulsville, Atteridgeville, on Friday, police spokesperson, Captain Thomas Mufamadi said.

“The suspect allegedly took the child to his shack in Matlejoane where he raped her. He then told her not to tell anyone otherwise he will wait for her after school and kill her,” he said.

Mufamadi explained that the girl was then given R50 by the alleged rapist, but when she got home, her older sister got suspicious of the money.

“Her sister asked their father if he had given her any money. The father asked the 8-year-old girl where she got it from and that is when she explained that she was raped. She told her father that it was not the first time this man raped her,” he said.

Mufamadi said the child’s father opened a case and the alleged rapist was arrested on Sunday.

“The investigations continue and he is expected to appear in court soon.”
