Four students accused of the murder of another at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) appeared in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Sibusiso Ntshangase (25), Lindokuhle Mahlobo (21), Mthokozisi Sithole (23) and Malusi Khoza (22) will be back in court on 17 November and remain in custody.
The trial stems from a fight among students at a tavern outside the TUT’s Soshanguve campus on 2 November. As the fighting moved to the campus, a student identified as Sakhile Masuku, was beaten and stoned to death. Masuku was a first-year student, studying language practice at TUT.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Matthews Nkoadi said a couple of other students were questioned, but were later released.
