Another mugging at notorious bridge

Woman mugged early in the morning or bridge.

Another mugging has been reported at the notorious Gerhard Street Bridge close to Centurion Mall.

On Thursday morning around 05:20, a Centurion woman was attacked by two assailants. The men tried to mug her but she put up a fight, preventing her attackers from taking anything from her.

She suffered stab wounds on her hands.

The woman gave a description of the two men who attacked her. Both had dark skin tone and about 1.75m tall with slender to medium builds.

One of the men had short dreadlocks and high cheekbones and was wearing a tan jacket and denim jeans. The other one was wearing a dark blue sweater with denim jeans.

Chris Evans of the Lyttelton Sector 7 Community Policing Forum (CPF) urged residents to stay away from the bridge, as people were often attacked early in the morning or late at night.

He called on anyone with useful information on the latest mugging to call the CPF on 086-157-1911.
