Police have re-arrested six criminals after they escaped from police custody in Atteridgeville.
Police have re-arrested six criminals after they escaped from Atteridgeville police station at the weekend, provincial police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said.
“The six men were arrested for various crimes on Saturday. As police were filing paper work for their arrests, the suspects escaped but four were immediately re-arrested after police chased after them,” she said.
Selepe said the remaining two criminals were found on Sunday at their homes.
“Four of the suspects are facing charges of drug related crimes, one for possession of dangerous weapons and one for shoplifting. They are all facing an additional charge of escaping from lawful custody.”
