Raid leads to arrest of two in Garsfontein
Two men were arrested on Monday after an illegal substance bust in Garsfontein.
Two men have been arrested in an illegal substance bust conducted by the Garsfontein police and the Tshwane metro police special project team on Monday.
Warrant Officer Dave Miller said steroids, needles and syringes were found in possession of the two men, both in their late twenties. The street value could not be confirmed.
According to a reliable source, the arrests came after the Tshwane metro team responded to a complaint about an illegal substances dealer and one of his helpers. Three houses in the Garsfontein area linked to the two men were searched and about four different types of steroids were recovered at two of the houses.
Both men will appear in court on charges of possession of illegal substances soon.
This bust came three days after Tshwane metro police arrested a suspected drug dealer at his home in Moreleta Park on Friday morning, following the discovery of an illegal drug lab in Onderstepoort earlier that day.
Metro police confiscated drugs to the street value of R2 600 at the 27-year-old suspected dealer’s home.
Earlier that day, three men and a woman were arrested when the metro police uncovered a drug laboratory and found drugs valued at between R1 million and R3 million in Onderstepoort.
Laboratory equipment, crystal meth, a compressor, two steamers, a bottle marked ‘benzene’, several containers, chemicals and rubber gloves were found. Police also confiscated various types of drugs which had been manufactured on the premises, but they could not determine the distribution destination.
