Two people arrested after an apparent police chase
Two people were arrested near the Kgosi Mampuru II prison leaving one other person injured.
Chaos erupted outside the Kgosi Mampuru II prison in Pretoria central on Wednesday afternoon when two people were arrested.
According to a source, the arrest came after a police chase which started in the Brooklyn area.
Tshwane emergency service spokesperson Johan Pieterse said they attended the scene after a police chopper was hovering around the area.
“We attended to an accident where one person was seriously injured and was rushed to Unitas hospital. Two people were also arrested by police at the scene,” he said.
Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said details surrounding the arrest were still sketchy.
“I can confirm that two people were arrested.”
