Man shot in head for luggage
Man shot in head and robbed in Stanza Bopape Street.
A Pretoria man is in a critical condition after being gunned down in Stanza Bopape Street, outside the Sheraton Hotel on Wednesday evening.
According to Gauteng Provincial police spokesperson Major Mack Mngomezulu, the man was offloading his luggage when a man in an Audi drove up to him.
“The man in the Audi jumped out of the vehicle and pointed a firearm at the man offloading his luggage. He then took all of it, including some personal belongings before shooting the man in the head,” said Mngomezulu.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring confirmed that the man was shot. “ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the man inside the hotel. He was rushed to Muelmed Hospital in a serious but stable condition.”
Meiring added that the man is believed to be from an embassy in Pretoria, though it is not known which one.
Mngomezulu added that anyone with information on the shooting should contact Crime Stop on 08600-10111.
