NATIONAL NEWS: Gym robbery caught on camera
Five robbers got away after they robbed a gym and were caught on camera.
Criminals were caught on camera after they robbed a gym in Krugersdorp on Thursday evening.
According to the owner of Aroeka Supplements the robbery happened after her sister Natalie van Zyl was done giving class.
“My sister heard something at the door and thought it was her husband but when she opened the door one of the robbers pointed a firearm at her,” Prinses Fourie said.
She said there were five men. Only three of them walked into the gym while the other two waited outside.
“Natalie was with two clients when the armed man walked in and told them to lie on the floor. She told them to take anything they want but asked not to hurt them,” Fourie said.

She said her sister and the clients who were in the gym started praying out loud. The men then were no longer aggressive with them.
Fourie said when Natalie’s husband, Jan, got to the gym he was also tied up with a tie-strap and his firearm and shoes were taken.
“The men took jewellery, a CD player which they may have thought was the CCTV camera system, Jan’s firearm and his shoes,” said Fourie.
Fourie was at a hospital when the robbery took place. She said when she got home from hospital she checked the gym’s surveillance on her phone and saw the incident.
“We called the police and the security company to rush to the gym but the men had already left by the time they arrived,” she said.
After the men had left she said Natalie managed to untie herself and the other people.
“We only give God the glory through this whole ordeal and are thankful no one was hurt.”
