The Oscar Pistorius case

View this timeline for an optimal look at the Oscar Pistorius case over the past few years.

On 19 August 2015, the Department of Correctional Services announced that Oscar Pistorius will not be released on 21 August 2015, as previously announced.

No reason was given for the sudden change of plans, but it comes after the Progressive Women’s Movement of South Africa (PWMSA) petitioned the government to block Pistorius’ release early this week.

Social media has been flooded with various opinions and comments about his release, which coincidentally fell in the same week as Reeva Steenkamp’s 32nd birthday.

In the timeline below, Rekord takes a look at the case up until now.
