Another High Court bomb scare

Police were searching the High Court in Pretoria after a bomb scare on Tuesday afternoon.

The High Court in Pretoria was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon after a bomb scare.

The court’s security guard said anonymous calls were received from a woman around 14:30 that there was a bomb inside the building.

“The woman kept calling the high court and telling us to search for a bomb in certain rooms. When we asked her questions, she hung up. Everyone was removed from the building after the scare, including prisoners,” he said

Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe confirmed the bomb scare, stating it was the second time this happened in three months.

She said police and the bomb squad were searching the court.

“We are not sure if there’s a bomb but people do sick things. Three months ago a person called and told us that there was a bomb at the court but there was nothing,” she said.
