Fleeing house robbers caught in Centurion
Three men were caught after fleeing from a house robbery.
Three suspected house robbers have been caught, following a car chase on the R55. Centurion Concerned Citizens (CCC) spokesperson Hannes du Buissson said their patrollers responded to a house robbery in Grysvalk Street, Celtisdal on Tuesday morning.
“A neighbour alerted us of the house robbery taking place. We sent one of our patrollers to the scene,” said Du Bussion.
Du Bussion said when the patroller arrived three men jumped into a white Ford Everest SUV and fled the scene. Monitor Net, Wierdabrug Sector 2 community policing forum, police and Scorpion Risk security company were all alerted and they all gave chase.
Du Bussion said a dramatic chase followed on the R55. The driver of the Ford Everest then lost control of the car after clipping another car and ended up on the side of the road. The three men attempted to flee, jumping over fences, but they were eventually caught, said Du Buisson.
The three men were arrested by Wierdabrug police.
Du Buisson said the Ford Everest contained house-breaking equipment and they suspected the car had false number plates.
