EFF condemns violence at TUT visit
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) condemned the violence by South African Student Congress (SASCO) students at the Tshwane University of Technology on Wednesday.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) condemned the violent behaviour by members of the South African Student Congress (SASCO) on Wednesday afternoon at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).
This after police reportedly fired rubber bullets at students when chaos erupted between SASCO members and EFF supporters at the Soshanguve main campus during a visit by EFF leader Julius Malema.
According to reports, SASCO interrupted Malema’s public meeting as they alleged he trespassed and did not apply to address students on campus.
EFF acting spokesperson Lehlohonolo Mokoena said SASCO members threw stones and bricks.
” The buffoons and hooligan stone-throwers of SASCO put the lives of students and journalists at jeopardy who had come in numbers to listen to the CIC [Commander in Chief] Julius Malema ahead of the SRC elections,” he said.
Mokoena accused the ANC of continuously unleashing violence on the opposition party.
“The cowardice of resorting to violence when they lose political support is only a demonstration of the end of days for the ruling party.”
