Tshwane metro police department (TMPD) have made another breakthrough in the fight against drugs in Pretoria.
TMPD spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said the TMPD made a large drug bust in Faerie Glen late on Sunday night.
“We received a lead from the community that drugs were being dealt from a house in Faerie Glen and followed up on the information.”
TMPD officers raided the house and found a large consignment of drugs.
Mahamba said two South African men were arrested and dagga worth R12 000 was found at the house.
He said other smaller amounts of other drugs and drug paraphernalia were also recovered.
Mahamba said when the men were charged, it was discovered that they were already out on bail on a murder charge.
“This bust is part of the TMPD’s active crackdown against crime and drugs in Pretoria,” said Mahamba.
The men are due to appear in court soon.
During June TMPD officers confiscated drugs to the value of R15 200 in Centurion. TMPD officers raided a house in Sylvie Street, The Reeds, Centurion, where they discovered dagga and CAT estimated to be worth more than R15 000. Three Nigerians and one South African were arrested during the raid.
