Dog brings home feotus head in plastic bag
Resident shocked by what her dog brought home inside a plastic bag.
A woman was shocked to find a fetal skull in a bag her dog had brought home on Friday.
Sunset View residents Louise Potgieter and her son told Rekord that on Thursday afternoon the family dog brought home what looked like a human leg but when her husband poked fun at her about the story, she thought she had made a mistake.
“On Friday, while I was busy with laundry, the dog came with another plastic bag. It seemed afraid to get to what was inside,” said Potgieter.
She said she opened the bag and saw what looked like a skull of a baby and in shock, called her son who verified what she thought she had seen.
“I called the police and the CFP to come out. The small skull had teeth so if it was a baby it would have been about a year and a half old,” said Potgieter.
She said police came to her house, took the skull and said forensics would investigate.
Potgieter said police came back and said it was a sheep’s head she had found.
“That did not look like a sheep’s head to me or the other people who saw what was inside the plastic bag,” said Potgieter.
Police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango did however confirm that a fetus was found in Sunset View but could not give further details on the matter.
