Mamelodi taxi driver shot dead
A taxi driver was on the run on Monday after another taxi driver was shot dead in Mamelodi.
A taxi driver was shot dead in Mamelodi on Monday morning.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Michael Mbewe said this happened around 05:00 at the Mahube taxi rank near the BP service station in Solomon Mahlangu Drive.
Mbewe said taxi drivers at the rank apparently got involved in an argument. During the quarrel, one of them fired shots at two of his colleagues.
“The driver shot two of the men he was quarrelling with. One was shot dead and other was transported to hospital in a critical condition.”
He said no other injuries were reported.
“No arrests have been made and we are searching for this taxi driver. We appeal to the public with any information to contact me on 079-694-6362 or 012-815-7102.”
