Two sisters were gang-raped by three armed men in Soshanguve at the weekend, police said yesterday.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said the victims told police that three armed men broke into their house in Block KK in the early hours of Saturday.
“The complainant (25) said she and her 18-year-old sister were asleep when she heard a bang on the door. When she got up, three suspects appeared and dragged her out of the bedroom together with her sister. They were moved into another room. The suspects also forced her two little brothers into the room.”
Mangena said the three men ordered the elder sister to lie on the floor and to cover her face with a blanket.
“While she was lying down, one suspect raped her while the other suspect began raping her sister. The third man held two boys at gunpoint while this was happening.”
The third man also raped the sisters.
Mangena said the trio then fled the scene. Their mother was sleeping in the next room while everything was happening, but did not wake up while the crime was being committed.
Soshanguve police station has opened a rape docket.
