Two men were caught with an unlicensed firearm and stolen property in their possession in The Reeds, Centurion, on Monday morning.
Captain Agnes Huma of the Wierdabrug police station said the two were arrested after a tip-off.
“The two men aged 28 and 29 were arrested by Wierdabrug members [police] assisted by security patrol members for possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of stolen property,” said Huma.
“House-breaking tools were also found in the vehicle.”
She said police received a complaint about a green BMW believed to have been used in robberies in The Reeds area.
Police stopped the vehicle and found a firearm with the serial numbers filed off, a magazine, ammunition and a plasma television set and laptops said Huma
The two men will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon said Huma.
