House of Comrades winner robbed

Award winning runner's home burgled while she was training.

Gopolang Chawane

Burglars hit Two Oceans and Comrades Marathon winner Caroline Wostmanns on Wednesday morning during her routine morning jog.

Her Lynnwood house was broken into and her bags, iPod, camera and other portable devices were stolen. Some of her husband’s power tools were also taken

“Everything else can be replaceable, but items such as my wedding ring has high sentimental value. No one was inside the house when the burglary happened and I am happy my husband and children are safe,” she said.

“I am not sure exactly how they gained entry but I think they un-hinged the gate.” Wostmanns reported the theft at the Sunnyside police station.

Police are coming to the house to take finger prints today,” she said.
