Centurion residents left in the dark
Centurion residents were left in the dark on Friday night after two consecutive incidents of cable theft in the Raslouw area.

Raslouw and Heuweloord residents might remain without power for the rest of Friday night.
DA councillor of ward 70 Marika Kruger said that certain streets in the Raslouw area are left in the dark due to cable theft in the early hours of Friday morning.
She said residents were also without electricity earlier this week due to illegal power connections at the Mooiplaas settlement.
She said power cables were stolen on two consecutive days. “Some factors that could have resulted in the cables being easily stolen could be the fact that the street lights on the R55 have been out of order for some time now.”
Kruger said residents in Heuweloord could expect power to be restored within the next three hours.
“A building contractor damaged one of the feeder cables that have now left residents in the dark. A technician team is on site and has already fixed one feeder cable. Power was restored only for a few minutes on Friday to see if the feeder cable worked. The cable had to be switched off so that the team can continue working on the second feeder cable.”
She said the power voltage is too high for it to run on only one feeder cable.
