An outing organised by Kiddies Ark Nursery in Ga-Rankuwa is going ahead despite a robbery at the crèche earlier in the week.
Kiddies Ark director Odo Ratshivhomvela said he believed this would help all concerned to deal with the trauma.
The crèche in Ga-Rankuwa Zone 6 was robbed on Monday by three armed men who fled with over R40 000 in cash, a laptop and cellphones for staff.
Ratshivhomvela said he had been planning a school trip to Aventura Bela-Bela, for which a considerable sum of money had been collected. It cost R260 per child. It had been decided the visit would go ahead.
“We’ve raised the expectations of the kids and we don’t want to disappoint them. We are trying to stretch every cent in the house, so we are going.”
Ratshivhomvela said he had been trying his best to provide trauma counselling, adding: “I’m hoping someone can help with this.”
