Police make dent in Pretoria North criminal activity
Police warn residents in the north of Pretoria to be on the lookout for criminals.

Police hope arrests made last week will help to nip rising crime in Pretoria North in the bud.
Pretoria North police spokesperson Lieutenant Rebecca Phatlhane said 23 people were arrested for various crimes committed, including shoplifting, theft and burglaries.
And Phatlhane has promised more arrests.
Akasia, Pretoria North and Sinoville have been plagued by rising criminal activity with house robberies, burglaries and thefts being reported to police on a daily basis.
Last week, Phatlhane warned that hijacking and smash and grabs were rampant in the area.
Akasia, especially the Amandasig area, have been the target of thieves and robbers preying on pedestrians, said Akasia police spokesperson, Captain Riana Van Aarde.
Amandasig Action Group (AAG), working together with police, arrested a man suspected of robbing pedestrians in Karenpark.
His accomplice is still being sought by police.
Van Aarde said the police were on the lookout for the three men who ride around in different cars who have terrorised the community.
The men steal number plates from parked cars and also rob pedestrians.
Another man was sought by the Akasia police after he attacked a resident with a crowbar.
The victim had to be admitted to hospital after he suffered injuries to the head and hand.
