Council closes FNB municipal accounts
Several First National Bank municipal accounts will be closed, the Tshwane metro council said.

Residents should note that the Tshwane metro council would be closing several First National Bank (FNB) municipal accounts designated for payment of municipal services.
The following accounts would be closed:
Account number 51420108130 for Pretoria collection.
Account number 62027802869 for Centurion collection.
Account number 62027803023 for Akasia collection.
“The [council] advises clients to use bank accounts that have a complete customer deposit identity rule built in, in order to prevent unallocated transactions,” said spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.
Mashigo said residents could still pay their bills through electronic banking.
“Make the council a ‘beneficiary’ by loading your ten-digit account number and pay at any ATM, via the internet or through telephone banking. Select the SAP collection bank account number when creating a beneficiary,” Mashigo said.
Payment could also be made at any Absa, FNB or Standard Bank branch or an Easy Pay point at Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, Woolworths, Post Office or any City of Tshwane pay point.
“You can pay your bill directly on the website. All you have to do is visit www.tshwane.gov.za, click on the e-Tshwane button, click Register and follow the on-screen instructions.”
Those that wish to settle their account through debit order can contact 012-358-8598.
