Metro repairing city outages

The Tshwane metro was attending to power outages in the metro after severe hail struck Pretoria on Monday.

The Tshwane metro said it was working hard to restore electricity to households after outages caused by the severe thundershowers of Monday afternoon.

Spokesperson Selby Bokaba said the metro’s customer care centres experienced an influx of about 6 000 complaints.

“The technicians are doing their best to restore supply to the affected areas,” he said.

He urged residents to be patient while the repairs were being carried out.

Affected customers are urged to report power outages by SMSing the word POWER and their account number to 082-612-0333 or 44676.

“Please note that all appliances should be treated as live at all times,” he said.
